“Dynamic Duo” Kevin Hrusovsky and Bob Coughlin Join the Fight for a Cure for ALS with Ice Bucket Challenge

As a surprise to PPHS Speaker  Nancy Frates, Ice Bucket Challenge to occur live on stage at Boston’s Powering Precision Health Summit

WHO: Powering Precision Health 2017 Founder, Kevin Hrusvosky and Robert Coughlin, President and CEO, MassBio, challenge conference attendees to match their organization’s sizable donations by each contributing a $10 donation online. Kevin Hrusovsky founded Powering Precision Health Summit to eradicate devastating disease like ALS via the power of deep science and disruptive technologies. Bob Coughlin has long been a champion of patient-driven solutions and heads the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council in the world’s leading life sciences hub. Nancy Frates, ALS Advocate, Co-Founder of the “ALS Ice Bucket Challenge” and mother of Pete Frates, will be on stage for this live surprise Ice Bucket Challenge.

WHAT: Boston’s biotech leaders to take the plunge with an Ice Bucket Challenge event at today’s summit, live on stage with Nancy Frates.

“Pete Frates’ Collaboration for a Cure directly aligns with the mission of our summit, to improve patient lives by collaborating on cutting-edge research that will transform today’s reactive sick care into tomorrow’s proactive and preventative precision healthcare,” explained Hrusovsky. “Nancy Frates will be speaking at the summit and this Ice Bucket Challenge is our surprise for her as she has expressed over and again how important scientific research is to discover a cure for ALS.”

Last week, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker offered his support for the summit and life sciences.
